Taking Risks!
So I have had this blog semi-set up for a looong time now. I would try to write a post and then erase it, try again but wouldn't post it. How do you start something like this? Where do you start something like this? Then there was a post by The Nester challenging us to take a risk and post today! So HERE is my risk! HA! I am just going to do it! Its not perfect (at all) its not even close to where I want it to be but its a start! It can only grow and get better!
Along with taking risks, I wanted to add my most recent home project. Again was a BIG risk!! You see we are much like The Nester and family, we have moved something like 10 times in 7 years... we have owned, and rented. Just recently we are back to renting after doing a great renovation at a home we owned. So in other words, we lack character! I miss my molding and painting and tiling, etc... So here in my rental I am looking for ways to add in that character without creating holes and headaches! So to the horror of my husband I got the bright idea that I was going to put shims (yes about 50, $1.36 pack of shims) on our fireplace wall with none other than the trusted glue gun!!! HUGE risk!! Well it paid off!

Its not exactly finished, I want to add a grey wash and stain to give it more of a stacked stone effect. I think its perfect!
So thank you Nester for encouraging us to take risks and embrace imperfection!
I did it! Next I will have to let you all know all the good stuff about me, my life and designs! Cause its all going in the hope chest!!
